more likely a "BUSTED CALLSIGN". As always, you never know - "Work
First Worry Later" (WFWL).
4W6, TIMOR-LESTE. The 4W6A team should be fully operational by the morning
(UTC) of September 17th. Operators Steve/9M6DXX/4W6AA, John/9M6XRO, Tim/
M0URZX, Anthony/MW0JZE, Bernd/VK2IA/4W3M, Oliver/MW0JRX/4W6A and Stuie/
VK8NSB/4W6SB will be active as 4W6A from Atauro Island (OC-232) on all
bands, 160-10 meters, using CW, SSB and RTTY with up to four stations
simultaneously. Col, MM0NDX, will be their Pilot station for the 4W6A
operation and may be contacted at: dxer59@gmail.com
The team hopes that the log search will be available from the Clublog
facility, but this is dependent on a reliable Internet connection being
available on the island. The QSL Manager is M0URX, direct (SAE plus
1 IRC or 2 USDs), by the Bureau, or LoTW. The entire log will be uploaded
to LoTW as quickly as possible after the end of the operation, or if
possible, also during the DXpedition. Direct or Bureau QSLs may also be
requested using the M0URX Online QSL Request Service (OQRS). There is
also a link from the 4W6A Web site at: http://www.4w6a.com
6V, SENEGAL. Jeff, N1SNB, will be active as 6V7V from La Somone during

holiday style on 80-10 meters using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. QSL via his
home callsign.
ADIF SEARCH WIDGET AVAILABLE. Marek, DH9SB, states, "because more and
more DXpeditions use Wordpress, I've written a widget for Word Press
that can do a search for callsigns in the log/s. It supports more than
one callsign and references. And of course, the log can be uploaded as
ADIF to different logbooks." More information is available at:
http://dh9sb.dx-info.de/2011/wordpress-adif-search-widget

CIS DX QPSK63 CONTEST. The European PSK Club has the honor to invite radio
amateurs from all over the world to participate in the 2011 CIS DX QPSK63
Contest. The objective of the contest is to establish as many contacts as
possible between radio amateurs around the world and radio amateurs in the
"Commonwealth of Independent States" by using the QPSK63 mode. The Common-
wealth of Independent States (CIS) is a regional organization whose partic-
ipating countries are former Soviet Republics, formed during the breakup
of the Soviet Union. Everybody can work everybody for a QSO and multiplier
credit. The CIS DX PSK Contest is held every year on the third weekend of
September. This year it starts at 12:00 UTC on Saturday, September 17th,
and ends at 12:00 UTC on Sunday, September 18th. The rules and other
information can be found at the contest Web site: http://www.cisdx.srars.org
This second year it is strictly a QPSK63 contest, no other modes are
allowed. Every participant should send a correct RSQ report and his/her
four-digit DXDA number. An example of an exchange for W6EPC from the
State of California is 599 2053. Maritime and aircraft mobile stations
should send an RSQ report and four zeros, such as 599 0000. You can find
your correct DXDA number at the corresponding list:
http://www.eupsk.com/documents/dxda-list.xls
The maximum output power is 100 watts. Recommended frequencies are:
160 meters (1838–1840 kHz), 80 meters (3582–3590 kHz), 40 meters (7040–
7050 kHz), 20 meters (14072–14080 kHz), 15 meters (21072–21080 kHz),
and 10 meters (28072–28080 kHz).

Polar Pioneer" and is expected to reach Admiralty Bay on King George
Island around the November 6th. Details about the base can be found at:
http://www.arctowski.pl/index.php?p=2
A special "ARCTOWSKI Antarctic Award" is available thanks to the Polish

IOTA NEWS..............
AS-049. Ken, JS3OMH, will be active as JS3OMH/6 from Toshima, Kuchino-
shima, Kodakara and Akuseki Islands, all part of the Tokara
Island group, between now and September 14th. Activity will
be on 40/30/20/17 meters using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. As
this was being typed, Ken was active from Kuchinoshima Island
(in the Kagoshima Prefecture). He originally was going to be
active from the very rare Island of Taira, but due to a typhoon,
high winds and heavy rain, Ken had to abort his trip to the
island. QSL via the Bureau or see QRZ.com.

(CI-046), Croatia, September 22-25th. Activity will be on

EU-189. (Update OPDX.1026) The same Belgian team that made an attempt
to land and operate from Rockall Island in May 2009 is about
to set sail again for their second try. Only this time they
have a much larger vessel with a variety of tools that should
warrant a safe landing in almost all sea or weather conditions
including a helicopter! They expect to be on the air around
September 27th or 28th, depending on how long it takes to get
to the rock. Operation from the ship will use ON4ATW/MM.
Estimated travel time is about 4 days from the harbor in
Antwerp. Callsign to be used when on Rockall is MM0RAI/p.
QSL via ON4ATW (LoTW, by the Bureau or direct). Keep an eye
on their Web site for last minute updates and news at:
http://www.rockall.be
OC-233. Laurie, VK7ZE, along with a few friends on holiday, plan to
activate King Island, as VK7ZX between November 3-7th, weather
permitting. He mentions that this is not a DXpedition, but an
operation in participating in the 150th anniversary celebration
of the King Island Lighthouse (LOTA AUS-050, ILLW AU-0082 and
VK Shire KI7), the tallest lighthouse in the Southern Hemi-
sphere. They will be on air as much as possible, mainly on 20
and 40 meters. Laurie requests, "Please do not ask for other
bands etc, we are travelling in a very small two seater plane
and as it is, have to make many trips to the Island just to
get ourselves and equipment there. There are no trees to attach
antennas to, and we are not allowed to use the lighthouse for
attaching antennas." If possible, they will upload logs to eQSL
and LoTW while there, if not it will be done when they return
home. For details on the lighthouse, see:
http://www.kingislandlight150.com

take time to say thanks to those men and women who endured hardship as
POW's and those that are MIA and still waiting to come home." Suggested
SSB frequencies are: 7250, 14253 and 18150 kHz (+/- QRM). QSL for a
picture QSL card via KM6HB: Mark McMullen, P.O. Box 27271, Santa Ana,

MOST WANTED DX SURVEY (2011) NOW AVAILABLE. Carl, N4AA, editor of "QRZ
DX/The DX Magazine", has announced that the "2011 Most Wanted DX Survey"
is now available in the September/October issue of DX Magazine and also
on-line at: http://www.dxpub.com/dx_survey2011.html
He states, "Although you can use the form from the magazine, it is
preferable that you use the on-line method to respond. It makes things
so much easier when we tally the results after October 15th. Remember
the overall results will be published in the Jan/Feb 2012 issue of "The
DX Magazine" and the world-wide results will be posted to the Web site
around January 15th, 2012, as well. The breakdown by mode/Low Bands will
be published in the Mar/Apr 2012 issue of the magazine." PLEASE NOTE:
Carl adds, "South Sudan is not on the form this time. Although there was
an operation from there this year (ST0R), it is not expected that the
confirmations will be available before the October 15th deadline for it
to be included in this survey. At this point in time, South Sudan will
be considered to be 'WANTED' by everyone. Obviously it will be included
on the survey next year."
PG540, THE NETHERLANDS (Special Event). Look for special event stations
PG540BUFFALO or PG540BUFFALO/J to be active between October 10th and
November 3rd. Activity is to celebrate the friendship between the ham
group "Project Groep .540" (in Kennemerland), and "The Buffalo's" (the
scouting in Zandvoort). The bands/modes of activity were not provided.
QSL contacts with PG540BUFFALO via the QSL Manager PA2REH, direct or
by the Dutch QSL Bureau (region R50). QSL the JOTA contacts with
PG540BUFFALO/J via the QSL Manager PA0SNY, direct or by the Dutch QSL
Bureau (region R20). See QRZ.com for more details.
PJ4, BONAIRE (Update). Excerpts from a bulletin (No. 2) put out by some
members of the Provins ARC F6KOP team announce that the team will activate
Bonaire (SA-006, WLOTA L1279) as PJ4C between January 12-23rd, 2012. The
team originally was going to activate something possibly in Africa, Asia
and Pacific, but after a few month of hard work, they had to cancel many
of them for different reasons (mostly security related to the last events
in the world). Also, some were just too expensive for their team. Finally,
they chose to go to Bonaire (PJ4) because they found a place to accept
all their equipment and operators. Thanks to the help of Peter, PJ4NX,
everything has been organized very fast. Their goal will be 80,000 QSOs
in 11 days, and maybe get the RTTY world record back. Operations will
be on CW, SSB and RTTY, with as least 6 stations, 24 operators, and on
the air 24 hours a day. The team members are experienced operators and
include: Franck/F4AJQ (team leader), Peter/PJ4NX, Dave/K4SV, Gabriele/
I2VGW, Bill/N2WB, Nobert/DJ7JC, Heye/DJ9RR, Guenther/OE3GCU, Karl/
OE3JAG, Eric/ON7RN, Henri/F1HRE, Yann/F1NGP, Jimmy/F4DLM, Michel/F5EOT,
John/F5VHQ, Jean-Luc/F6BIV, Alain/F6ENO, Joel/F6JMT, Jean-Paul/F8BJI,
Bernard/F9IE, Rein/PA0R, Kenneth/OZ1IKY, Gerard/F2VX, Francis/F5QF and
Tony/F8ATS. More details and updates can be found at: http://www.pj4c.com
PJ5, SABA AND ST. EUSTATIUS (Update). Operators Wlodek/SP6EQZ and Janusz/
SP6IXF will once again be active as PJ5/SP6EQZ and PJ5/SP6IXF from St.
Eustatius (NA-145) between October 19th and November 4th. They will be
active exactly from the same QTH (Grid Loc. FK87ML) as last time. Activity
will be on all HF bands, 160-10 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY, running
two high power stations using wire antennas, verticals and a Spiderbeam.
QSL via their home callsigns, direct or by the Bureau. Logs will be
uploaded to during the DXpedition. The DX-
pedition's Web site is under construction and will be ready before the
activity.
